Spring...

...not yet!
It has been chilly, sometimes cold and sometimes snowy here.
Cannot wait for some really nice sunny, spring days...
at least a few in a row!

Last week I had some great plans
to sew a lot and while I did sew a little
everyday...it was not as much as planned!

Why?  I had a rotten cold and my
eyes were so teary I couldn't even see straight.

I did finish these log cabin blocks for a
swap I belong to...
They will go in the mail tomorrow!
Each person in the swap is making 9 log cabin blocks.
All the "logs" are black/white and all the centers will
be different colors...obviously I had yellow.

I also worked on the little quilt using the green strips
pictured last week.
BUT...it is nothing like the quilt I had wanted to make.
Changed my mind and came up with this...
Originally the plan was to make the "Lucky Little Clover" quilt
shown on the Temecula Quilt Co. BLOG but
As I was working with the fabric this one came to mind
and sew I sewed it!
I still have strips with the other greens to one day
make the other little quilt.

Well, that's all for now...

Happy Sew Year!

So Many Quilts...

...sew little time!

Or is that...so much fabric...sew little time!

All I know is that I have been doing a lot of
sewing and I still have a lot of fabric
on the shelves and
quilts on the mind!

I have been productive and have a couple
more tops complete and ready to show...

The 30's Beach Balls...from the Beach Balls Pattern and using the
Lazy Angle Ruler...

Borders are on and that's another UFO complete...
and the top is hanging in the shop ready for class sign-ups!

Scrappy Irish Chain...showing this again in a better photo...

Also hanging in the shop ready for class sign-ups!
It is so pretty I think I might have to make another one...
some day!

This is called Strip medallion from the book Strip Favorites.
It is a class at the shop that one of the other ladies (Debbie) is teaching.

But this one is mine!  I pulled a bunch of Patriotic Fabrics from my (overwhelming) collection of those and worked on this last week.
I simply love this and will most definitely make another one.
It was a lot of fun to make!

This is a UFO that I started last year some time.
It is an original design.

This is the UFO for next week that I hope to finish.
Imagine if you can pull out and finish one of your UFO's a week!
That would be awesome.
I have been trying to do some UFO sewing every week.

And of course, like every good little quilter...we MUST have new projects too!

I might be on a green kick...you think?
My two little "Colleen Mini Me's" are helping with this one.
Strips are cut and I am ready to stitch tonight after work.

Speaking of work...gotta run!
Have a great day!

Happy Sew Year,
Colleen

Some pics of projects...

...I have been a sewing fiend!

That's right.  I have spent many an hour at the ironing board, cutting table and sewing machine over the past few weeks.

Enjoy the pics!

My Irish Chain...borders are on and this will be a class at the
LQS where I work...Pieceful Quilting.
This one finished at 66" x 66".
It looks a little rippled in the photo...I just plopped it on the floor for the picture.

Another class sample.
I designed this one using 120 degree triangle ruler.

Remember the Valentine's Day quilt I was working on?
This one...it is done being quilted and ready for the binding.

This is made from the tiny left over pieces from the
HST units...see the penny!

Made from a pattern called "Beach Balls"  using the
Lazy Angle Ruler.  Started this a while ago and
pulled it out on Thursday and finished the center.
I need to audition some borders and then decide what to do with it.
Maybe a cute spring or summer table topper?

Hope you are sewing and enjoying thoughts of spring...
I know I am!

Happy Sew Year!
