Been Busy!

What a wacky day...thunder, rain, sunshine, thunder, darkness, rain, thunder, sunshine...simply crazy!
I cannot believe how long it's been since I posted.  Life has been really busy and every time I turn around there's another event to attend or a project to get working on.
Thank goodness I love it all!!!

Remember this...
I posted a photo a while back.  Well, it is completed and made into a pillow.
Called it the Shabby Chic Pillow.  I don't have a current photo because it was taken to the shop and used as a class sample.
Taught the class (2 of them) yesterday and ALL the ladies loved it and their pillows came out great.
I needed to make step by step samples up for the class and decided to finish them today and make another pillow.  Only this time I made 2 smaller pillows instead of the one larger pillow.
One is complete and the other ones needs to be backed and I have to go purchase another pillow form.

I think I know two little girls who will adore these pillows!
I like the "3-D" strip effect from this technique.

Hope you are all having fun at the sewing machine!

A little pumpkin...

Yesterday I had a fantastic day sewing with some friends!
I actually made only two pillowcases because I was talking and laughing sew much.

My daughter called and asked me if they had left one of my grandson's favorite movies (BOLT) at the house last week...they did...she also "reminded" me that I said they could take "How the Grinch..." home and they didn't...sew could I mail them?  Of course!  Now what she doesn't know is that I made a pillowcase for my little guy out of the Grinch Christmas fabric to send along with the movie...he is going to love it!
My favorite part of this actually is the cuff fabric...I adore those whacky dots.
The other pillowcase may or may not be for him...I have a few great nephews who might love this...
Saturday night I had planned to make another mini quilt...crazy about those quick little projects and Saturday night is the perfect time for me to make those.  But when I got home from work my husband had made plans to meet friends for dinner...sew...no sew!
Well, I still wanted to make a mini sew around 10pm Sunday night I, after deciding on a pattern, and pulling fabrics...
...meet "My Little Pumpkin"!
Still needs quilting and binding but that will be quick for one night this week.

Hope you all had a great weekend...I did!
Happy Sewing.

God Bless America!

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her,
thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
to the oceans white with foam.
God Bless America, my home sweet home!

Wedding Weekend...the count down is on...

Busy...Busy...Busy!
Getting ready for the BIG DAY...SUNDAY!!!

The Bride and Groom-to-be arrived on Wednesday and it has been a busy two days.
Wednesday was clean up day...the freezers and refrigerators completely emptied and cleaned.
Then it was off to BJ's to stock up.
Thursday was spent cleaning and getting ready for the rest of the family who are arriving today!
I cannot wait to see my little guy!!!!  :)  Happy me!

Tonight is the Rehearsal and the Dinner that we are hosting.
Tomorrow (Sat) we are having all the kids and a few of their friends for a BBQ!
Then Sunday comes and it is Wedding all day!

My husband is picking up the groom and usher at 8am for haircuts and clean shaves...
Then dropping them at the hotel to get ready by 1:45pm for pick up from limo...
We have to leave the house at 1:30pm and head to the church for Groom family photos before the ceremony at 2:15pm.
Ceremony is a 3pm and then more photos and...
This is a pic of my dress (that is not me)!
THE FUN BEGINS...well into the night!
Party time!!!
Needless to say I haven't sewn a thing since Monday!
Wednesday and Thursday I did spend some time with my fabric...folding it is very relaxing to me!
Organized a little in the sewing room too.
Maybe I can sew a little today or tomorrow.

Have a super weekend!  I know that I will!
Happy Sewing!
