Bridal Shower Gifts...

Sunday was the Bridal Shower
for my nephew's fiance.
I had a previous commitment
so I could not attend.

My daughter-in-law went and she graciously offered to take my gift along for the Bride-to-be.

These were purchased pillow cases that I machine embroidered the couples names on.
Then I attached some very pretty cluny lace to the cuff edge.

To match the other pillow cases I made these.
The color theme for their linens was white and silver so I stuck with those colors.
These came out so cute (the photos are poor)!
They have the inside flap that covers the pillow completely on the open end.
I really like making the pillow cases like this and have perfected my pattern...finally!

I also machine embroidered some flour sack towels for them...
Don't worry, I didn't forget the weekend!

The entire gift was wrapped in a beautiful decorative box I purchased in Michael's.
Forgot to take a picture of it.  The theme on the box was Paris to match the theme of the shower invite.

I put a gift card in a frame that matched the theme.
Very cute!

The other commitment...

Black Belt Promotions (2 days of testing) at our Karate Dojo!
This was a very special promotion because it was the first Black Belt testing
for the Uchi Te Ryu Association under the direction of my husband Hanshi Seiken Takamine.

The weekend was fantastic and the students did a great job!

Still sewing strong!

Hello Again...

...It has been a long time since I last posted.
I really should be vacuuming but I'm not!  :)
The past few weeks have been very busy...

...and full of fun!

My daughter and grandson came to visit!
We had a fantastic two weeks.
The photos above are from our visit to the

What a great time we all had.  I remember taking the kids there many years ago and it sure has changed.
It was very clean and well organized and not too expensive either!
The best part was feeding the animals.

The time goes by too fast when loved ones come for a visit.
I miss them already!

There also was a lot of sewing and machine embroidery to do.
My grandson needed to have his name embroidered on his beach towel for Summer Camp.
The towel had large polka dots so I put a letter from his name in each dot and then flanked it with Seahorses in the outer dots.
It came out so very cute.  My daughter said that was a lot of work for a beach towel...
Nann will do anything for her little guy!!! LOL
And I did make my daughter some pretty pillowcases to match her newly decorated bedroom at home.
She didn't go home empty handed...well, not quite, my husband will be mailing these along with some other items she couldn't fit in her suitcase home to her tomorrow.

My daughter gave me a beautiful set of dish towels for Mother's Day.
So I just had to redecorate the kitchen hutch top with them.
Love this!!!
I have had these Rooster ceramics for about 8 years and never used them.
LOVE!
Now the plan is to redecorate the entire kitchen around these awesome towels.
A little retro will work for me.
I just had to make this little trivet to go under my teapot on the stove.
It's tiny.  About 7" around.  So cute!
There will be more to come for this room.
The Americana border paper will come down next month and my husband will be painting in August.
There won't be as much R/W/B in this room but I will always keep little touches of it!

There has been other sewing ~ everyday ~ some gifts and some shop samples.
I have been very busy!

Hope you are enjoying the end of Spring and the start of Summer!
Happy Sewing!
